Services Include

Charles Ward has provided assessments and expert witness reports for procedures in SENDIST, EAT, and in the Crown, Civil and Family Courts. His work has included:

Assessment of the Mental or Intellectual Capacity of adults and children
Educational Assessment of Adults and Children, including psychological assessments of or for:

                - Children with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties
                  (PMLD)
                - Autistic spectrum conditions
                - Dyslexia
- Dyspraxia

Learning Disability Assessment
Assessment of social understanding
Assessment of capacity to understand in court

Clients are usually be seen within 4 weeks of written instruction, often sooner.
Draft reports are provided within 10 working days following the completion of the assessment.

Fees
If Legal Aid is available, then the Legal Aid Authority rates for Child Psychologists are charged. Charges for self-funding clients are adjusted to take account of the financial capacity of the client. Please contact me for an estimate of fees.

Assessment Venues
Assessments can take place at home, in the instructing solicitor’s offices, at the school or educational setting, or in other suitable local premises, if requested. Appointments are made at the most appropriate venue, depending on the client’s needs, the nature of the activity and the type of the assessment. Expert witness assessment work with children and young people will usually take place in their school or their home, unless otherwise requested or indicated.
